The importance of digital marketing in the games industry

The main importance of digital marketing is to the let people know that you are creating a product that you are going to be releasing to the public, with digital marketing you are able to reach more people who would be interested in your product than using posters or newspapers ads. My project that I am creating is a game for my grade unit 2 and I am going to be using digital marketing to let people know what my product is going to be and when its going to be release, as there is no point creating a product if no one knows about it as you spent all your time on developing the product like game or website or new toy if you don’t use any digital marketing to market said product. Digital marketing is use to generate hype for your product,  there is different types of digital marketing as you can use your own  website to post updates or use a blog post to update followers  or using twitter was you can post updates and also response to fans about any questions they have about your product. The importance of digital marketing in the games industry is that games companies want gamers to know that they are releasing a totally new game to the world or remastered of a old game, games companies will use multiple different digital marketing techniques like using TV ads or ads on YouTube or ads on websites or using YouTubers to promote their games as well for them to generate hype and interest for theirs games. (Wakefield, 2020) and (DellaFave, 2020)
